One of the most enduring voices still working in radio, Adam’s illustrious career spans decades. From hosting Loveline alongside Dr Drew Pinsky to co-chairing The Man Show with Jimmy Kimmel and co-creating cult TV hit Crank Yankers, Adam has been an omnipresent figure in sardonic, irreverent American comedy. In 2011, Guinness recognised The Adam Carolla Show as the most downloaded podcast in the world. Today, he continues to host his hit podcast and, earlier this year, he co-created and starred in The Daily Wire’s animated sitcom Mr Birchum.
So why did we invite him on?
Politically, Adam errs on the side of ‘libertarian’. While historically decrying the welfare state, censorship and open borders, Adam has also advocated gun control, green energy and drug legalisation. While a Republican, (“I guess”), it’s clear that he isn’t a typical case.
But neither is Trump. So we wanted to know: what does a Trump victory mean to him?
Adam seems optimistic: “Now he’s free of the second term, and he gets clearly what [the regime] do and that the New York Times will never write a kind or accurate thing about you ever … so it’s time to just go for broke.”
This, he recognises, seems to be something both sides will agree on – unrestrained by the promise of more years as President, Trump’s about to go hell for leather. The difference is, to the left, that means “opening as many gulags as possible.”
